There’s a saying: “Third time’s the charm.” In the context of Rock It Science Laboratories’ third release this most certainly rings true. Thunder Cats have already been on the prowl, appearing as the first track on Tommie Sunshine’s spring promo mix and an XLR8R podcast. Eric Sharp & Bass Cadet go to the outer reaches of audio space exploration and zoom back into orbit delivering a monster of a club whomper with Thunder Cats. Sick Boy, hailing from Amsterdam and tearing up the charts lately with work out on labels like Dim Mak and Discobelle, brings the polished heat on this incredibly tasteful stormer of a remix. DJ Fame, Dubsided Records and Potty Mouth Music pioneer as well as Rock It Science label mate, gives Thunder Cats the big room, big city feel with his deep tech space growler. Two more remixes from Homero Espinosa of YBD and Spy Step, a sub project of Bass Cadet’s best known for their work on Mal Label Music, round out the EP.

The homie Nacey from Washington DC is crushing it on the remix tip right now. His remix of La Roux’s Bulletproof was featured as the opening track on Major Lazer’s Lazerproof mix tape, and now he’s back with a luscious remix of MIA’s new joint “Steppin’ Up.”

Nacey is one-third of Nouveau Riche, a monthly party in Washington, DC, started in 2006 with fellow DJs Gavin Holland and Steve Starks. Nacey is known for his high-energy sets and has shared the stage with the likes of The Count & Sinden, AC Slater, Nadastrom, MSTRKRFT, Blaqstarr, Miami Horror, Scottie B and Eli Escobar to name a few. Headlining the event will be Santiago & Bushido, who have been tearing it up in the studio working with folks like Green Velvet and Colette and who delivered a great remix for the release. Eric Sharp will warm up the main room, while the Destiny Lounge will feature Wiggle Room remixer Andrew Phelan as well as Rock It Science artist Native Intelligence. If you’re in or near SF don’t sleep on this; it will be a huge night!

Rock It Science founder Eric Sharp has been working closely with Flavor Group on an awesome new project for Scion called Scionify, highlighting the rich cultural and artistic landscape of Northern California. To commemorate the launch of its new regional home on the web, Scion is bringing together the most contemporary players in music, art, and fashion. Headlining will be Craze and The Gaslamp Killer, 2 ground-breaking artists who will devastate the party. Rock It Science is one of the hosts in the main room, and Eric will warm it up for Craze & Gaslamp. Best of all the event is free with RSVP.
